John Lalley is a self-made, backyard BBQ connoisseur who specializes in slow-smoked meats and Italian gourmet favorites. His passion is simple; he whole-heartedly enjoys making people happy. By curating flavorsome and savory eats for clients, he does just that. Well-versed in the ‘low and slow’ smoke method, John’s ability to integrate just the right amount of love and flavor into every meal is remarkable. The many hours spent crafting the careful and palatable flavor behind each creation gratifies him just as much as it does his clients.
A New Jersey native, John was born and raised around Italian traditions and values. His grandmother, one of his biggest influences, as well as his cousins, helped generate his culinary foundation. Spending Christmas dinners and Easter Sundays with a big Italian family only motivated him further. Though, his wife is the true inspiration behind his growing passion. While John can be deemed the Grill Master, Kristy is the pâtissier of the kitchen (on her own time). Together, they make an excellent team as two culinary artists.
John’s love for gastronomy comes after years of research, watching endless hours of cooking shows and documentaries, and reading various books on the craft. A few of his favorite chefs are Rodney Scott, Aaron Franklin, Matty Matheson, Andy Cooks, and Massimo Bottura. He also has top of the line equipment and appliances. When he’s not busy cultivating his side business, John likes to spend time with his wife and two children exploring the local farmer’s markets and having fun at the Jersey shore.
